Nothing is more important to us in Education than learners, whether they are children, young people or adults. Our Plan reflects this, placing the learner at the heart of our service. It focuses on the Education Service aspirations and in doing so we have sought to provide clear and measurable objectives and targets that will guide our work and against which we can assess our performance.
Since our original Plan there have, however, been developments in the National Priorities for Education and new duties placed upon Education Authorities. We have also undertaken a consultation with stakeholders. This updated Plan tries to take into account these developments and views in the form of updated objectives and targets and yet maintain a clear direction and some stability in the medium term.
This Plan is our 'Improvement Plan' and contains all of our local improvement objectives for the purpose of the Standards in Scotland's Schools, etc. (Scotland) Act 2000.
